mom

Here is a woman who is still beautiful inside and out....she can spot a bit of blue sky on the cloudiest day.
Happy birthday, mom!
Love goes with you,
Susie

leaf in water

I've taken as many walks as possible these last weeks to enjoy the fall colors.
Last week, Gracie and I took the Boone Fork Trail; we found a big flat rock in the middle of the creek....I stretched out on it, looking at the brilliant blue sky, framed by yellow leaves, leaves drifting down....when I finally looked up, Gracie was swimming serenely around the little pond the creek made, nipping gently at the fallen leaves. Moment of perfection!
Cheers,
Susan

beutons

OK; I have to confess. The Carousel series is actually a larger painting that I cut up and edited.
This painting is on a piece of the Carousel painting, sans carousel animals. Here we have Gracie, eminating beutons and love.
Cheers,
Susan

moi

OK folks; this is moi, off to make my presentation (this is on my "storyboard", NOT today's outfit!) Although, it is a cute outfit, isn't it; made from Michelle's chinese dancer tutu fabric, and her 3yr old pink sparkly leotard fabric.
We'll see how it goes.
Cheers!
Susan

chickies

My friends and coworkers today are heading off to the big city (Raleigh) for 3 days of meetings, so I thought this was an appropriate post!
These chickies are painted wood, with festive feathers.
cheers!
Susan

flight of summer

this is actually a small pin (called an "ArtAbout"); about 1" x 1" ($10)......summer is indeed gone, this morning is pretty chilly!
Cheers,
Susan

Repose

I opened up envelope and marbled it, secured it to an 8 x 12" prepared plywood....all summer it languished, waiting for an inspiration! 2 cows in repose was exactly what it needed!
Cheers,
Susan

photoshoot IV

Here is the last in this dual-chrome series....since this is Gracie's fav spot these days, I'm sure there will be more!
Cheers,
Susan
(4" x 4" on clayboard, $75)

Listen, talk..... Part deux

Here's another entry for the upcoming Best of the Blue Ridge show. Listen to the animals, talk to the birds, part deux....this is 20" x 16", also "not a daily", but a post, nonetheless.
Cheers!
Susan

photoshoot II

Here's the second in the series. I like the minimalist aspect, myself. No frills. This is on a 4" x 4" clayboard; I think it would be great much larger, like 36" x 36"....what do you think?
cheers,
Susan
(yours for $75)

photoshoot I

This is the first in a series of dual chromatic paintings (different for me!) that I am making from photographs taken as Gracie sat in a chair bathed by light from an overhead window.
4" x 4", $75.
Cheers!
